The Reunion Band

The Reunion Band was a long-awaited project that I had been nurturing for some time. When I finally secured a weekend at Smalls, and then we performed at William Paterson, I was beyond excited to reunite with this group of talented musicians. We had recorded together going back to my first recording on SteepleChase. 

The journey started when I recorded a demo tape with Marc Copland and Jeff Hirshfield around 1991. I then used that tape to approach different labels to secure a recording deal for the group. However, during a recording session with Andy Laverne, I had the opportunity to meet Nils Winther, the owner of SteepleChase. I gave him a copy of the demo tape, which is how I started recording for his label. My first recording was released in 1992, and my last recording for Steeplechase was done in 2019.

We had never really had the opportunity to perform live, as we usually rehearsed the music and then recorded it. So, having this opportunity was truly special. I feel incredibly honored to have recorded with such talented musicians, and listening to those recordings brought back so many wonderful memories. 

Getting together again to perform as The Reunion Band was a real treat for me, and I am thrilled to have some videos to share with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed performing together.
